About Rare Buffs Poultry
Located in East Cork, we are small scale hobbyist breeders of quality poultry. Our focus is on exhibition Sebrights, which live in our large back garden in separate breeding pens alongside our layers (pictured above). A pair of small Black East Indian ducks lives in the vegetable patch.
We are committed to producing quality stock, and choose only the best quality birds to breed from. We are members of the Irish Society of Poultry Fanciers, and our flock is registered with the Department of Agriculture and Food.
Breeding is just beginning for the year, and we are looking forward to hatching and raising this year's youngsters, with the best to be kept for showing and added to the breeding groups.
We are pleased that some of our birds have placed well in several shows in recent years. A young trio of gold sebrights bred here this spring won 2 firsts and 1 third in the true bantam categories at the 2012 Iverk Show, with the cockerel going onto champion row as reserve true bantam champion. And in 2011 our pair of Silver Sebrights took first and second place in the true bantam class at the Cork Summer Show.
